Sarratt Festival of Music - our 25th anniversary!

Here are the artists for our 2024 Festival - 4 wonderful evenings in September!

Friday 20th September: Martin James Bartlett - solo piano

Martin is one of the outstanding pianists of his generation. He was the winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2014 and since then has gone on to win many international prizes. His career encompasses performing concertos with the leading orchestras of the world including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Concertgebouw and solo recitals.

Saturday 21st September: Lucy Crowe (soprano) and Anna Tilbrook (piano)

With a repertoire ranging from Purcell, Handel and Mozart to Verdi and Janáček Lucy has sung with opera companies and orchestras throughout the world. In 2023/24 she sang the title role of Handel’s “Rodelinda” on tour in the USA and Asia with Harry Bicket and The English Concert. Last summer she took on the role of Titania in Britten’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” at Garsington Opera and performed at the BBC Proms.

Friday 27th September: London Brass

The ten-piece ensemble of the London Brass features the finest brass players in Britain, including principal players from the London Philharmonic, LSO and Philharmonia Orchestras. Their concerts are notable for the wide range of musical genres they encompass - from Baroque to contemporary pop styles - and for their engaging and charismatic performance style. In recent times, the ensemble has toured many countries throughout Europe and performed at various notable landmarks in the capital: Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, Barbican, Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral, St Paul’s Cathedral, The Old Whitehall & Banqueting House and 10 Downing Street - for global televised occasions, such as the BBC Proms, Millennium Celebration Concert, Queens Jubilee and the Papal Visit.

Saturday 28th September: Jazz Repertory Company - Jazz in New York

Our ever-popular jazz night brings some of our favourite musicians back to the Festival with an evening of joyous swing - In 1930s New York, jazz was the pop of its day and the music emanating from Manhattan’s radio stations, night clubs, bars and dance halls was at its most swinging and exciting.

This evening will feature music from the greatest names in jazz -  Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller and more – played with effervescence, style and dazzling virtuosity by the Jazz Repertory Company aka Richard Pite & co, with Enrico Tomasso, Pete Long and Ian Batemen.
